Compliance rules

The following are defined as acceptance criteria:

Criterion 1:

If a sample has a content of less than LOD the result is provided as <LOD and the sample is declared compliant with the legislation if the LOD is at least 5 times below the law

Criterion 2:

If the sample has a content within the limits of the legislation, then it is stated that the sample is within the corresponding legislation.

Criterion 3:

If the sample has a content close to the legislation and the uncertainty does not exceed the legislation, then the sample is declared within the legislation.

Criterion 4:

If the sample has a content close to the legislation and the uncertainty exceeds the legislation, then the sample is declared outside the legislation (consumer safety).

Criterion 5:

If the sample has a content greater than the legislation, then it is declared outside the legislation.

Criterion 6:

If it is a customer specification, then if the sample has a content close to the out-of-specification limits and the uncertainty is outside the limits of the customer's specifications, then the customer is informed of the criticality of the material specifications and a decision is made on a case-by-case basis whether to accept the sample.

Criterion 7:

If it is an analysis given to an external provider then the decision rule is in accordance with the legislation or specifications as the laboratory cannot document the uncertainty.
